What I Learned Reopening Bandofsisters (BOSS) in 2025

Back in 2019, I launched bandofsisters as a bit of an experiment — small circles of women called a BOSS POD, meeting quietly, courageously, trying to find confidence, clarity and the guts to give something new a go. In one word? Courageous.

Fast-forward to December 2025. After five + years deep in corporate life (and a recent detour out), I returned to run a December BOSS POD. And here’s the big reveal: Women supporting women? Still undefeated. Apple can release a new iPhone every year, but this one thing has not changed.
BOSS POD Session One: Our first hour together called Real Talk — wasn’t about job titles, KPIs or LinkedIn likes. It was about:
· “I bring humanity into every moment.”
· “I think deeply and thrive on change.”
· “I give people a leg up because success is more fun when everyone climbs.”
These are the things HR keeps trying to capture in frameworks… and somehow misses. Women arrived stretched thin, but left with positivity, collective energy, and that spark you get when you stop pretending everything is fine and actually talk like humans.
My Big Question: Why Are These Conversations So Rarely In Corporate?
Why do these rich, honest conversations happen so rarely in corporate?
· Outside work: identity, fears, strengths, dreams.
· Inside work: agendas, slide decks, and the “Let’s take that offline” - yeah right
Psychological safety? Turns out it’s alive and well — in a BOSS POD.
